In their own words, ‘Carleton Endowed Church of England Primary School is a place where aspirations can be achieved in a non-threatening environment and where children leave our school as well rounded, responsible citizens with the skills and confidence to be successful in their future endeavours’. 

A school with a big focus on community, this voluntary aided school serves the Carleton community, and those that surround it. Welcoming children from all faiths and backgrounds, with applications reviewed fairly by the Admissions Authority, which is the schools own governing body.

Nestled in the beautiful village of Carleton with just a short drive to the dales and Skipton. Their mission statement states: Our school provides a foundation for all to flourish rooted in the person and work of Jesus; built upon Christian values encouraging aspirational achievement.

Pupils are taught in 6 classes:

  • Class 1 = Reception and Year 1, taught by Mrs Roberts
  • Class 2 = Years 1 and 2, taught by Mrs Steeples
  • Class 3 = Years 2 and 3, taught by Miss Sigsworth
  • Class 4 = Years 3 and 4, taught by Miss Atkinson
  • Class 5 = Years 4 and 5, taught by Mrs Coyle
  • Class 6 = Year 6, taught by Mrs Bowers

Carleton Endowed Curriculum of subjects

The school treats each child as an individual and celebrates the unique differences of the students. Numeracy and Literacy are taught for at least an hour each day, as well as a full curriculum of subjects including:

  • Art & Design Technology
  • History & Geography
  • ICT
  • English & Literacy
  • Music
  • Maths & Numeracy
  • Science
  • Special Education Needs
  • Languages

Other areas of learning include personal and social development, health awareness and thinking skills.

They have a comprehensive website detailing term time, uniform, fees and a new parents FAQ for all your questions and queries, with the Interim Headteacher Mrs Marshall saying Never give up, encourage others and do your best.
